I didn’t wake up today thinking I would write this article, but there’s only so much stupidity one can take.
Earlier today, I received a message from a friend who works in the Virginia General Assembly:
Then, they sent this video of the subcommittee hearing:
Now, you might be asking yourself, “What did I just watch?”
Well, I’ll tell you.
You just viewed a video from the subcommittee on Counties, Cities, and Towns. A subcommittee for the Counties, Cities, and Towns committee in the Virginia General Assembly.
Captain Carbon-Cutter, Delegate Rip Sullivan, a liberal Democrat from Northern Virginia, introduced a bill, House Bill 644, allowing localities to ban gas-powered leaf blowers.
What’s even more absurd? This bill passed the subcommittee, the full committee, and is now on the house floor and making its way to the Virginia Senate.
What does that mean, you ask?
That means this bill could be passed by the Senate and be sent to the Governor’s desk.
Out of all the issues Virginia Democrats are focused on, banning gas-powered leaf blowers is at the top of their legislative priority list.
Also, I want to point out there isn’t some massive problem with gas-powered leaf blowers disrupting someone’s entire day. It might be an inconvenience for ten minutes, but it’s not going to ruin your entire morning or afternoon.
I don’t know Ms. Davis, but she sounds like an absolute terror. God help you if you’re in that friend group.
I can hear the chatter now, “Can you believe the lawn man was using a gas-powered leaf blower this morning? The gall!”
Also, the next woman from the Sierra Club says that not only is pollution a problem, but it is a real problem for people of color.
Are you kidding me?
Contact Delegate Rip Sullivan via phone and email to express your strong disapproval for introducing House Bill 644.
